Fireplace Mantel Flower Drops

It’s another rainy weekend here in Langley, which is not so great for the Canada Day celebrations (July 1 is Canada Day for you folks reading in other parts of the world). However, it is good for carving because it keeps me indoors and at the carving bench.

I am making progress on the fireplace mantel. I’ve finished all the flowers, flower swags, and flower drops as you can see in this photo.

Next comes finishing the bows. Hopefully I can get them done this weekend.

We’re planning on hanging out with the crowds in Langley for some events today and Sunday. I wish we knew how to celebrate a little more like our neighbours to the south, but we’re slowly catching on. I love fireworks!

Happy carving!
